What are the special programs?
The transition to adulthood is a complex time for the entire child population, but the population of people with disabilities more vulnerable to these changes. For this reason, since NeuroPed we have developed a series of specific programs for this to be as natural as possible.
From the point of view of the Public Health system, the transition to adulthood occurs at the age of 18 years, the child passes the health system pediatric to adult healthcare system, the families have to find their way in the adult healthcare, and this change sometimes tends to be problematic. The question is, How can we help in this transition?
The fundamental characteristic of the child population is that they will need a follow-up and monitoring of your evolution and prevention of complications throughout their development and in some cases during his maturity. The treatment period will last, therefore, until the transition of the child/adolescent care adult, a time of great difficulty and risk.
The time will depend on the current and future needs of the person, usually occurs between 16 and 19 years of age. The key aspects to ensure a good transition are: the transfer of responsibility for the health care and the provision of education, training or employment after leaving school. Given the significance of the decision will be agreed with the young person and their family.

From the point of view of Schooling, the transition to adulthood occurs normally at the age of 21, which is when you pass of the schools Day care Centers. In NeuroPed we will support in the search for the facility that best suits the needs of each child.
From the point of view of the functionality, it is necessary to provide these kids with the tools sufficient for their transition to adult life the best it can be, in this way, in NeuroPed we have created special programs to make our way towards the adult life. The objective is to achieve greater independence.

In NeuroPed we have rehabilitation programs intensive coinciding with the school holidays both in summer and how to for the rest of the year.
There is scientific evidence that supports the labor-intensive neurorehabilitation in pediatrics, by this the holidays are a time in which the children are more relaxed and can take a great advantage of the stimulation to boost their cognitive skills, and language as well as their sensory development and motor.
During the camp, children will be therapeutic activities, always with a strong component entertaining and motivational, aiming to improve the cognitive, motor, and/or communication and language, and especially of autonomy in Activities of Daily Living.
For each child design a program of neurorehabilitation intensive and individualized that includes the different specialties that we currently have in the center:
- Cognitive rehabilitation (attention, learning, problem-solving tasks), visual therapy from the area of Neuropsychology
- Rehabilitation of speech and language as well as myofunctional therapy from the area of Speech therapy
- Motor rehabilitation, we use various therapies (Votja, Bobath) from the area of Physiotherapy.
- Rehabilitation of the upper limb, stimulation of sensory processing and work-specific activities of daily living from the area of Occupational Therapy.
RATIO: In all of the activities of both how individual collective the ratio is a professional for every child. In this way, we can adapt the games to the capabilities of each child.
DATES AND HOURS ARE FLEXIBLE: with the intention to accommodate the maximum demand of the families, the holidays, etc., the family will be able to choose for a summer camp week or individual days that work best for them. We remind you that in August we don't close.
PROGRAMS: From 2 hours each day
TARGET AUDIENCE: Directed to any child in need stimulation from infants to 21 years.

Our experience in the diagnosis and treatment of children we have come to the conclusion that an adequate stimulation in the first years of life helps significantly to lay the foundation for a good start in Education.That's why we've created “The house of NeuroPed”, an educational project for children 1 to 3 years

HOURS:
The House of NeuroPed is intended for families who are looking for a different alternative for the first few years of your child. The schedule is reduced from 9:30 to 13H, because we understand that the care of children in the early years is reduced and therefore the time of harvesting is not going to be higher.
LEARNING INDIVIDUAL:
Before starting his career in The House we will make an initial assessment of each child through the Bayley Scales of Infant Development-III. This will give us a vision of the individual's state of the child's development level:
- Scale Cognitive (COG)
- Scale Language (LEN)
- Receptive communication
- Expressive communication
- Scale Motor (MOT)
From the results, there will be an individualized program of learning that will ensure that the child acquires the developmental milestones according to his age and get the prerequisites of the next stage.
HOW WE LEARN
To make the children feel comfortable and happy you will work in an environment of playful, with different games, songs, and other activities that promote cognitive development and social-emotional, language, sensory and motor of the smallest of the house.
The teachers of the House of NeuroPed are professionals NeuroPed experts on neurodevelopment of children.
Our team is formed by:
Neuropsicólogas, speech Therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.
CHILDREN WITH ALTERATIONS IN NEURODEVELOPMENT
For NeuroPed it is very important that these developmental milestones are met and, when we observe that the development is not to be expected for your child, schedule a meeting with you to study in detail what is going on.
It is our philosophy that early detection will allow us to address early on the difficulties of the smaller ones.
One of the core values of the House of NeuroPed is the inclusion and, therefore, all children are welcome. If your child has any type of alteration in the neurodevelopmental already diagnosed, we will perform a program of learning combined with a program of therapeutic development in which the team of neurorehabilitation will be the supports they need to reach their highest degree of development.
NeuroPed puts the child at the center of your treatment, and we consider the family how essential part within our intervention. Therefore, we conducted follow-up sessions on a regular basis.

The intervention to address is necessary when the goals of treatment are not possible to perform in NeuroPed.
In those cases, the/the professionals NeuroPed move to address to make a direct intervention.
In NeuroPed we are aware that there are times in which it is possible that a child may need a temporary support in the education centre.
Support functions in the classroom. The functions depend on each case, they can be:
- Accompanying the child throughout the day,
- Improve the social relationships of the child in the classroom/playground/dining room.
- Helps in dining room/route
- To improve the care of the child in the class and to include the maximum in the explanations of the teacher.
- Avoid interrupt
- Prevent
This service is aimed at those children quxxx. The need can arise for a part of the family or the school or learning center. In any case, in NeuroPed we perform first an assessment that will be in this case in an observation in the classroom for as long as necessary for the later set of specific objectives with the family and in accordance with the education centre.
In NeuroPed we believe in the ongoing training and specialized how the only way to be constantly updated since our methodology is based on the scientific evidence.
To do this, we have a training room for up to 50 people. Annually, we carry out a schedule of upcoming courses that we are going to make.
